Cubbon Park in Bangalore offers various activities for visitors of all ages. In 1970, the park was finally renamed as Sri Chamarajendra Park to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of Sri Krishnaraja Wodeyar. Motorable roads are also laid inside the park that allow light motor vehicles to ply in and out of the park. Another ornamental tree that finds a place in this park is the tropical tree delonix, known more commonly as the gulmohar tree. Cubbon Park also comprises of ornamental trees such as Grevillea Robusta (silver oaks), the first one imported from Australia in the entire of Bangalore. Some of the local species found in this park are artocarpus, cassia fistula, ficus, polyalthias etc.

We were super happy that our refreshing morning walk to view blooming trees also turned out into an exciting statue trail hunt. King Edward’s statue is located outside the first gate (from where we entered near Cubbon road metro station).
